Developing Personal Safety and Risk Awareness

This course is aimed at managers, team leaders and employees who may not possess adequate levels of security and risk knowledge, but may be required to operate in potentially non friendly environments.

The course covers a broad spectrum of security and risk related issues including threats to personal safety; security and risk awareness; risk and threat assessment techniques; counter surveillance techniques; elements of personal protection; secure communications; the application of technology; route safety awareness; home/office and travel security. 

The following Learning Outcomes (LO) will be achieved

1. Recognise and address potential threats, vulnerabilities and risks to personal safety.

2. Assess risks to personal safety in relation to non friendly circumstances.

3. Understand and apply ways to minimise risk in relation to a variety of dynamic circumstances.

4. Carry out planned reactions to threatening situations.

5. Identify and use relevant understanding methods which may be required following threatening incidents.

Whilst this is a level 3 course, level 1 and 2 courses can also be provided.
